Exploring the Body File: The Basics of HTML

When ODS creates HTML output, it takes the results that would normally go only to the SAS Output window (or LISTING destination) and renders them as an HTML file that can be understood by Web browsers like Internet Explorer or Firefox. The SAS LISTING destination results are just text and numbers separated by spaces and line breaks when displayed in the Output window. For the results to be displayed in a Web browser, they need to be coded with HTML tags. These tags control things like the display layout in the browser window and the fonts and colors used for the text and numbers.
