Converting to PDF with Acrobat

Generally, using the ODS PDF statement produces perfect PDF output from your SAS results. However, you don't have much control over the conversion process. There are a number of decisions that go into creating a PDF file. You can let SAS make them for you, or if you want to invest in another piece of software, you can take control of the conversion yourself.

To create PDF files outside of SAS, you need to purchase software that distills PostScript files. Distilling is the term used to describe converting a file from PostScript to PDF. The most common distiller on the market is Adobe Acrobat. Unlike the free Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat is a commercial product that you must purchase.
