Barbara is an avid gardener while John is a huge fan of wildflowers because they take care of themselves. Barb first set the ambient backlight exposure from the sun, and secondly used her Nikon SB-800 Speedlight to illuminate the dark side of this hollyhock facing the camera. We call this cross-lighting, when two light sources coming from opposite directions are used. Nikon D4, 200mm micro lens, ISO 100, f/13, 1/160, Cloudy WB, Nikon SB-800 Speedlite with FEC +.7
