ABOUT ON THE COMMONS
ON THE COMMONS, the successor organization to the Tomales Bay Institute, was cofounded in 2001 by Jonathan Rowe, who also served as its first director. Its purpose is to assist and bring visibility to people who are defending and expanding the commons.
Now based in Minneapolis, On The Commons has published numerous articles and reports, initiated several campaigns and demonstration projects, and promoted commons thinking worldwide. Its website, www.onthecommons.org, is a lively online magazine for commons theory and work. Much of this book first appeared there.
