This chapter introduced some of the golden rules that you should follow when considering and deploying summarization with OSPF, looked at the ways in which you can summarize external routes, and then considered private versus public addressing with examples of how VLSM can also be used to summarize various network routes and subnets. Provided throughout this chapter are several configuration examples that demonstrate the concepts by showing them in real network scenarios.
