RFC 1131: OSPF Specification
First published back in 1989, RFC 1131 was the first RFC that introduced OSPF to the networking community. There is not a lot to gain by discussing this RFC because it has been rendered obsolete several times over. However, this is where OSPF began and consider that this was barely over 10 years ago.
