Chapter 10: Working with OS X's Own Utilities
In This Chapter
Understanding the Utilities folder
The utilities that come with Mac OS X
Although the “big” software tools reside in the Applications folder (see Chapter 9), they're not the end of the story when it comes to useful software included with OS X. You'll find 21 specialized applications—called utilities—in the Utilities folder that Apple supplies. Other applications also may reside in that folder; for example, Adobe puts its installation utility in the Utilities folder whenever you install one of its major applications, and it places its Flash and AIR player software in that folder as well.
