Use Notes for Making Notes

9781118461990-ma030.tif Notes is an electronic notepad for your Mac. A note is a convenient place to jot quick notes, recipes, phone numbers, or whatever. Some Notes are shown in Figure 9-10.

To create a new Note, choose File⇒New Note; press maccmd.jpg+N; or click the little Plus button below the list of Notes.

Notes is supremely flexible; here are just a few things you can do:

check.png Double-click a Note to open it in its own window so you can drag it around on-screen by its title bar.

check.png Change text to any font, color, size, and style by selecting it and using the myriad of tools in the Format menu.

check.png Search for a word or phrase in any Note by typing your query in the Search box.

check.png Create bulleted, numbered, or dashed lists (the baked potato recipe in Figure 9-10 is a bulleted list) by selecting the text and choosing Format⇒Lists.
