Chapter Summary

The teen years are a time for the young adults in your family to become more independent and take on more responsibilities. You can maintain a less stressful family schedule if you adjust your teenagers' chores to fit their mindset while, at the same time, reaching an understanding with them that, as members of the family, they have an obligation to support the entire family's schedule, not just their own. You can help them become successful in their independence by teaching them the skills they'll need to develop and maintain their own schedules for the rest of their lives.
