Opening Case: Invisible Strings

When the director of one of the premier management institutes in eastern India resigned, the board of directors selected Dr Chaturvedi, one of the senior-most professors who had been serving the institute for more than a decade, as a replacement. The reasons for selecting him were cogent and realistic. He knew the people around and the organizational culture like the back of his hand.
