Accepted wisdom today is that there is sufficient difference between leadership and management, between a leader and a manager, that the two concepts or forms of influence should not be used interchangeably. In addition, leadership is more often associated with change and management with stability and daily operations. We can, of course, carry this distinction too far. In times of significant organizational change, both leadership and management are required.
