6.6.2 Analytical Skills

Make no mistake about it, those who would be change agents had better be very good at something, and that something better be analysis. Guessing will not do. Insight is nice, even useful, and sometimes shines with brilliance, but it is extremely difficult to sell and almost impossible to defend. A lucid, rational, well-argued analysis can be ignored and even suppressed, but not successfully contested and, in most cases, will carry the day. If not, then the political issues have not been adequately addressed.
