5.7.2 How Do Consultants Work

All outside consultants are hired for a fixed period of time. They study the organisation, give their recommendations, and help in the implementation if required. Thereafter it is the insider who would either use or misuse the recommendations.

Therefore, from the beginning, the outside consultant should be associated with a few insiders. This helps the insider to broaden his view and improve his skills and also leads to a better implementation of the recommendations provided by the consultant.

The joint effort by the outside consultant and the insider has some other advantages as well.
