In this chapter, we introduce some of the major recent and future issues for organisations. The world of work is changing dramatically, with more and more restructurings, downsizings, delayerings, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcings, and the use of temporary freelance workers. These changes have brought with them a range of contemporary issues that need exploring.
