Admin Server Failures and the Managed Servers

Let's say you have the Admin Server and multiple Managed Servers all running on the same physical or virtual machine. What happens to the Managed Servers if the Admin Server fails and you're unable to bring it up for some reason? The Managed Servers will continue to run, despite the failure of the Admin Server—you just won't be able to modify the Managed Server's configuration because there's nothing to manage it with! The last section of this chapter shows you how to set up the Managed Servers to run independent of the Admin Server.
