Understanding the Log Files

A WebLogic Server instance maintains a server log (the SERVER_NAME.log file in the DOMAIN_ NAME\servers\SERVER_NAME\logs directory), where it records all messages from each of the subsystems as well all the applications deployed on that server. It simultaneously sends some of these messages to the domain log file (DOMAIN_NAME.log, which is located by default in the DOMAIN_NAME\servers\ADMIN_SERVER_NAME\logs directory). The server never broadcasts messages with the DEBUG severity level. By default, all servers send messages of severity level NOTICE or higher to the domain log.
