Backing Up the Security Data

If you don't have the security data, you can't restart the Admin Server on a different machine. In addition to the config.xml file, you must also backup the boot.properties file. If you aren't using an RDBMS for storing the security data, WebLogic Server stores the security realm and other settings in the default embedded LDAP server. The Admin Server acts as the master for the LDAP data, and the Managed Servers read the security data when they initially connect to the Admin Server. A server's LDAP data is in the MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\<domain_name>\ servers\<AdminServer_name>\data\ldap directory.
