This chapter covered several ways that existing systems can be converted to Oracle VM virtual machines. This allows you to preserve and reuse a system that is set up and configured optimally for your environment without having to start from scratch. Oracle VM is focused on reuse of work and leveraging existing configurations to provide a stable, reliable, and faster-to-deploy virtual environment. In this chapter, you learned how to convert virtual machine images and physical machines into Oracle VM virtual machines.

Chapter 19 will present examples of day-to-day administration tasks that are done by the Oracle VM administrator in order to keep the VM Server farm in optimal condition.
