Summary

This chapter covered the tasks necessary to configure a Linux system to be ready to install the Oracle VM Manager. This method is often the preferred one for installing the VM Manager. Optionally, you can download the VM Manager virtual machine template from Oracle and install the VM Manager in the virtual machine environment.

Additionally this chapter covered the tasks necessary to perform regular maintenance on the virtual or physical machine that hosts the VM Manager. The bulk of the work in setting up the VM Manager environment is in the configuration of the VM Manager itself. This will be covered in later chapters.
