Name
emctl
Use emctl to manage the Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control, Oracle Management Server, and Oracle Management Agent.
Syntax
emctl {start | stop | status} {dbconsole | oms | agent | iasconsole}
Parameters
start
Starts the specified process.
stop
Stops the specified process.
status
Displays status information for the specified process.
dbconsole
Indicates that you want to manage Database Control.
oms
Indicates that you want to manage Oracle Management Server.
agent
Indicates that you want to manage Oracle Management Agent.
iasconsole
Indicates that you want to manage Application Server Control.
Examples
To start Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control, you can execute the following command:
D:\>emctl start dbconsole
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control Release
10.1.0.2.0

Having started Database Control, you can now access the Enterprise Manager by pointing your web browser to http://your_server_name.domain_name:5500/em.
Tip
emctl can be used for some other tasks, such as managing blackouts. Refer to Oracle’s Enterprise Manager Advanced Configuration manual for details.
