Specifies a character to terminate a substitution variable reference, if you wish to immediately follow the variable reference with a character that SQL*Plus would otherwise interpret as a part of the substitution variable name. The default is a period.
ON
Resets the value of CONCAT to a period.
OFF
Specifies that no CONCAT character be set.
