The HELP command is used to get help on SQL*Plus commands. Prior to the release of Oracle8i, HELP also provided information on SQL and PL/SQL syntax. HELP is used as follows:

HELP INDEX
HELP DESCRIBE

The topic is the help topic you want to read about. Entering HELP INDEX (HELP MENU in some older releases) displays a complete list of valid topics.

Note

Some Windows versions of SQL*Plus, notably those prior to Oracle9i, do not support online help.
