Snapshots (filtered)

Snapshots are the historic data for the defined time period (the default is every hour and is retained for 8 days) that can be used by Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM) for comparison and helping us to identify the performance issues. ADDM does the comparison of these snapshots and also comes up with some advisories and the rationale behind those advisories.

For creating a snapshot, the database should be licensed with the Diagnostic Pack or the user will find the following warning while trying to create a manual snapshot:

Failed to process SQL command
ORA-13716: Diagnostic Package License is needed for using this feature.
