Chapter 13. Using Business Objects

As a business analyst or data administrator, one of your jobs will be to analyze data and distill business information. Databases have become increasingly complex, especially databases for purchased packages such as Oracle Financials or PeopleSoft. Despite your skill in writing and tuning SQL, it can be very difficult to extract information from these systems. Analysts also find that performance is extremely bad when producing information from these complex databases. The purpose of this chapter is to discuss some techniques and tools that you can employ when creating and analyzing management information systems.
