Mail Services

he focus of this chapter is on the Solaris implementation of the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). The one relevant service available for Solaris 11 is known as sendmail. Although other SMTP services are available for other UNIX-based operating systems, sendmail is perhaps the traditional e-mail server service for such systems.
