Flex fields
Flex fields are a set of generic attributes attached to a task, which can be populated with information from the task payload. This information can be displayed in the task listing as well as used for querying and defining workflow rules in the worklist application.
Populating flex fields
The simplest way to initialize the flex fields is in the BPEL process, which creates the task. If you click on the plus sign next to a Human Task activity, this will expand the task, showing you the individual BPEL activities that are used to invoke it, as illustrated in the following screenshot:
