Standards for the Oracle Security Server

In Oracle8, a new Security Server facility is supplied to either stand alone or work in conjunction with several third-party vendor products for generating certificates of authentication. These certificates enable users to connect to various applications and databases without having to provide a username and password each time they want to change connections from one place to another. The Oracle Security Server is discussed in Chapter 15.

If a company is planning to implement, or has implemented, a single sign-on utility for user authorization, the security plan should detail who will administer the Oracle Security Server and how users will receive accounts and interact with the Security Server.
