RESET DATABASE

Synopsis

Either creates a new incarnation of the target database, or resets the target database to a previous incarnation within the recovery catalog. This command is needed only when the target database has been opened with the reset logs option of the SQL ALTER DATABASE command. If you use the RMAN ALTER DATABASE command to reset logs, the target database is automatically reset within the catalog.

Syntax

RESET DATABASE [TO INCARNATION incarnation_key];
