This part of the book contains several quick references that supplement the material in Chapters 8, 9, and 10. Appendix A provides a summary of the metacharacters that can be specified in regular expressions and the syntax of the regular expression functions introduced in Oracle Database 10g Release 1. Appendixes B and C describe the formatting characters that can be specified in conversion functions for numeric and date values, respectively.
