Summary

This chapter explained how to get started with the JRockit Mission Control tools suite. We briefly went over the background for the product and its various subcomponents—the Management Console, the Memory Leak Detector, and the Flight Recorder. For completeness, we also mentioned JRCMD, the command-line tool that is part of the JRockit JDK.

We showed how to run both the standalone version of Mission Control and the plug-in version for the Eclipse IDE. We explained how to enable the JRockit management agent for remote management and how to troubleshoot the connection when Mission Control fails to connect. Additional tips and tricks on how to debug the Mission Control client were also presented.
