Guest
A self-contained system, such as an operating system, that runs on top of a hypervisor is referred to as a guest. Several guests can run on top of one hypervisor, but this setup is normally not visible to the guests, who, in the case of full virtualization, each believe themselves to be running directly on physical hardware.
