Extension point
In Eclipse Equinox (OSGi) terminology, an extension point defines a way that another plug-in can contribute functionality. For example, there is an extension point in the JRockit Management Console that allows third-party plug-ins to implement new tabs. An entity that contributes to an extension point is called an extension.
