LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST

Synopsis

Value: valid path or device name

Default: operating system dependent

Dynamic: ALTER SYSTEM

Specifies the default location of the disk file directory or tape device when archiving redo log files. Note that archiving to tape is not supported on all operating systems.

Oracle recommends that if the Enterprise Edition of Oracle8i or Oracle9i is used, then you should set LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n instead of LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST.
