Synopsis

UPGRADE CATALOG [TABLESPACE [']tablespace_name[']] [;]

Upgrades a recovery catalog schema to a newer version that is required by the RMAN executable. You cannot use an RMAN binary against a catalog that was created with a lesser version. For example, you cannot use an Oracle 9.0.1 RMAN binary to connect to an Oracle 8.1.7 catalog.
