Synopsis

RESYNC CATALOG [FROM CONTROLFILECOPY 'filename'];

Resynchronizes the catalog with the control files of the target database. For example, you use RESYNC when the recovery catalog has been down for maintenance or other reasons and needs to be synchronized with the target database. In general, most RMAN operations synchronize the catalog with the target database. For Oracle8i, you must execute this command from within the RUN command.
