Converting HAL to FDM or ODI
If you were one of the early adopters of HFM, then you would likely have the early data integration solutions. When HFM was first released by Hyperion Solutions, the only ways you could load data were through a flat file, using the Excel add-in or Hyperion Application Link (HAL). HAL is a platform, like ODI. When pulling large amounts of data and pushing it into the Hyperion tools, HAL worked very well. There were tools to help with mapping and updating the data.
