Connection Manager

The Connection Manager enables users to manage their data source connections. Users can add, delete, and modify connections per Excel instance. These connections have no relationship to worksheets. Users can establish multiple connections per Excel instance. A connection is a communication line between the user and data source regardless of whether the data source is connected or disconnected to the provider server. Visually, you can tell whether a data source is connected or disconnected by viewing the icon next to the data source name in Connection Manager. From the Smart View panel, you can manage data source connections, access data and task lists, and create reports. Figure 4-10 shows the Connection Manager.
