What Is VBScript?
Here is the first misunderstanding about HFM. The rules are not written in Visual Basic. They are written in something called VBScript, owned and developed by Microsoft. VBScript is a lightweight active scripting language. It is a subset of the Visual Basic language, and uses similar concepts like procedures, constants, variables, user interaction, array handling, date/time functions, error handling, functions, objects, and string manipulation.
Here is the second misunderstanding about HFM: It does not use the full toolset available from VBScript. There are many functions you can’t use. For example, anything that requires user interaction, like a message box, will not work in HFM rules.
