Error Handling

Okay, it didn’t work out, the rules aren’t working, or worse, you are getting an error. What do you do? First, you need to identify what is an error and what isn’t. Sometimes the only way to really isolate where a rule is failing is to start taking parts of the rules out of the system and start adding them back until you find the error. This can be tedious, and doesn’t always give you enough information to fix the file.

When you load the rules, HFM will check for errors, but only when it gives you an error does HFM tell you right at the top of the header. It tells you the start of the load and whether HFM could identify any issues.
