Not all accounts will translate using the default rules. As per US GAAP and IFRS, certain accounts (investment and equity are most common) need to translate at a historic rate. The override is the approach used to “override” the translation, when we don’t want to translate using VAL or PVA, but some historical rate. To do this translation, we have two options:
Override rate Enter a historical rate.
