Formatting

Good formatting is critical to writing a good rule file. Formatting includes proper spacing, indenting, and naming conventions. You should always indent when you’re writing scripts. Each line should have some comments. You can provide an explanation of what each section of the rules file is built to accomplish by adding lines that begin with an apostrophe and are considered “commented out” or commentary.
