Creating a highly available GoldenGate configuration using Oracle Clusterware and OCFS2

In this recipe we will see how to create a GoldenGate configuration using OCFS2 as a shared storage filesystem and Oracle Clusterware to manage the high availability.

Getting ready

For this recipe, we have a two-node Oracle RAC 11.2.0.3 database in the source environment. We also have an additional unused shared disk /dev/sdf1, which will be used for hosting the GoldenGate binaries and other files. The OCFS2 filesystem will be created on this shared disk. We would also need an additional IP on the public network in the cluster as that will be used for GoldenGate high availability and communication.
