Conclusion

In this chapter we reviewed the core set of Oracle virtualization products and their relationships. We began with a review of the Oracle Virtual Manager, a product that provides foundational virtualization capabilities by allowing multiple virtual machine images with a guest operating system to execute in isolation within a single physical server. We then moved on to an exploration of the capabilities of the JRockit and WebLogic Server Virtual Edition products. As we discussed, together these products allow for the execution of Java and WebLogic Server–based applications within an OVM environment without the need for a guest operating system.
