Monitoring Exadata

Exadata runs the Oracle Database and, specifically, Oracle 11gR2. On Exadata, your database storage uses Oracle ASM and your instances will typically be deployed into an Oracle RAC cluster. With Oracle 11gR2, Oracle has seeded a number of Exadata-specific performance statistics and wait events into its kernel.

In addition to your Oracle 11gR2 databases, Exadata’s architecture is configured with a number of storage servers, or storage cells, that comprise the Exadata Storage Grid. Each storage cell captures alerts, metrics, and I/O request information.
