Using MDX to calculate Aggregate Storage database

In this recipe, we will be using MDX to run a calculation off an Aggregate Storage Option (ASO) database. Calculating an ASO database is a functionality that was not available in Essbase prior to version 11.1.2.x; as such, it is one of the more compelling reasons to upgrade from the previous versions. Although calculation in the ASO cube is a relatively new technology and does not have the breadth and depth of the BSO calculation script, it presents an exciting option to the traditional calculation options in the BSO cube. Note this recipe requires that you have the ASOsamp database added in the recipe Using MDX in aggregate storage applications in Chapter 5.
