Once a lot of Agents and targets on those Agents have been added to the Console, a new problem will arise: How do you manage all these targets?

Container targets, like groups, systems and services, are a way to logically group targets into entities, which make sense for the environment they are running in. These entities can be a Line-Of-Business (LOB), a group of DBAs, all targets for a specific application, or even targets grouped per location. By grouping these targets together, an Administrator can get a bird’s-eye view of that set of targets, and perform administrative tasks on the whole set of targets in that group (the “manage as one” paradigm).
