About the Authors

Werner De Gruyter started his career with Oracle in Belgium, in the support organization back in 1996, right around the time Enterprise Manager 1.0 was released. After four years there, Werner moved to the United States in 2000, where he joined the System Management Products development organization, with the mission to help development eliminate the barriers to adoption for Enterprise Manager, based on the feedback provided by customers. In that time, he’s seen the whole metamorphosis from Enterprise Manager (the JAVA/C++-based product) to Grid Control (the web-based product).
