CHAPTER 9Demand Planning

In Oracle Manufacturing, Demand Planning is at the front end of the planning process. It is where you create and manipulate predictions of future demand. It gives these users an environment where they can “slice and dice” volume data. You can create these predictions yourself, or you can use the history created through the shipping system to create your time series data. You can combine calculated forecast data and adjust for events such as promotions, price increases, cannibalization from new product lines, etc. The responsibility for portions of the forecast can be assigned and then the aggregate forecast assembled for final review.
