Modularity
It has been proven over and over in manufacturing and in software development that modularity is the key to adaptability and changeability in any product. We see modularity around us in the world so consistently that we no longer notice it. What if the keyboard for your computer was not a module? If that were the case, then no other keyboard would work with your computer. If it went bad, your computer would not be workable and would have to be thrown away. Because modularity allows us to interchange parts, the goods that we buy and the tools that we use have become better, more affordable, and more plentiful.
