ASM in an RAC Environment

We have discussed how it is useful to have the ASM instance available for the disks of the database, but have not yet looked into the details about how to manage the instance. In the Oracle RAC environment, there needs to be an ASM instance for every node in the cluster, but one ASM instance can support multiple instances on that node.
